#78 - Write your SaaS Growth 📈

Distribution - the key to everything

Hello makers!

We are SaaSwrites, and every other Saturday, we curate/create this weekly newsletter ‘Write your SaaS Growth’ by SaaSwrites - a Growth Marketing Hub.

We discuss curated growth tactics, strategies, and marketing channels in easy-to-digest nuggets to help grow your SaaS. Welcome to the edition #78 of Write Your SaaS Growth. In this edition, we discuss one thing … distribution.

Distribution

We saw this quote this week. It makes total sense.

With one exception! We would argue that you should have 2 → 1 → 3 i.e Figure out your distribution strategy, build something awesome and then survive!

Here are some ways you can create your own distribution before you even start building or launching:

1. Creating a website and targeting a whole bunch of low difficulty keywords + programatic SEO 👇️

2. Creating an additional blog or niche site outside of your company to target your audience more generally.

3. Getting backlinks 👇️

4. Engaging all relevant communities e.g Reddit, Twitter

5. Create and test 10 creative variants for Google ads (search and display) and run a couple each month with a $5 a day budget. The purpose of this is not to get customers per, but to refine your targeting early and seeing what your audience response to. If you do this, then by the time you launch/are live you know which ads work and you can double down.

PS: Make sure you are tracking your conversions properly from day 1. Also this 👇️

6. Start list building for cold email and Twitter DM’s and test out various messaging, get the right leads etc.

You don't want to do any of this 'once you launch' as your marketing funnel is as much a product as your actual product and takes as much time.

Do this kind of work in parallel and in like 3-5 months you will have the data on which channel gives you real conversions and is worth your time

That’s it for this week!

See you in a couple of Saturdays.
