Growth Tip of the Week!
Ads
If you are looking to validate/grow/scale your SaaS with ads, make sure you know what you are doing. If you do not know, hire someone who knows. You don't want to waste your time and energy on running paid ads until you are an expert in running them yourself.
Cold Email
Sending a cold outreach to your prospect? This is SUPER basic but if you are sending a cold email to prospects, get yourself an email with a domain. Unless you are sending it to your friend or family!
Content Marketing
Do you enjoy scrolling through memes? It's wild how memes are transforming SaaS business through content too! I've seen a Twitter account explode with super-relevant memes. Companies are also officially hiring meme-makers! Add 1-2 memes to your content marketing strategy, they are the future.
It's wild how powerful memes are right now.
Even in B2B...
I was chatting with a media buyer last week who works with a few SaaS companies and they said all of their top performing ads were memes.
There's a new CMO in town:
Chief Meme Officer.
Kidding. Kind of... A thread:

Community
Communities are a super-effective way to grow your SaaS. Read how LemList leveraged personality and community to grow without any major funding. Yup, they started building in public and publically growing a community!
Lemlist is a great example of how startups can leverage their personality and community to grow without funding.
Here are my 10 biggest lessons learned from @GuillaumeMbh and @lemlist from their journey towards a $150M valuation you can apply in any SAAS business.

Copywriting
It's said a lot of times and we will still say it another time. Features sound good for someone developing the app. It helps you boost your ego! Your customers do not care about the features. They might not even care about the benefits. All they care about are RESULTS! Show them how your SaaS can bring them their desired results.
Dear SaaS founder,
Talking about;
- features: serves you
- benefits: serves your prospect
- results: creates desireFocus on the last two

Email Marketing
Only send emails when your customer wants you to. A newsletter is NOT the only email marketing strategy. Here is a creative tip to get more signups by pulling your customers from a transactional email.
Growth Marketing
Growth can come in multiple ways. But fancy terms will not bring you growth. I see growth as one big wheel moving forward with all levers supporting it. Growth always comes together, not individually.
While Product Led Growth is the recent talk amongst product and product marketing teams.
It's not about #PLG v/s #SLG
For many SaaS orgs, I think it has to be a combination of both.
It has to be Product Led Sales.
Product led Sales = Product led growth + sales led growth.

Sales
As a founder or a maker, a reminder that your primary objective is to get more sales. And now, you have an answer for all awkward the questions :)
When asked what your job is as a startup founder just say sales.
It'll avoid a lot of confusion plus they won't think you're unemployed.
